][we live not according to reason, but according to fashion][

March 15, 2011

These pictures are from the Anti-Fashion Show that was held here in Huntsville at the local community art center, The Flying Monkey. Allison and I participated with nearly 20 other designers to put together a show that was both entertaining and fashionable, because let’s face it–fashion shows can be a bit boring at times. Some of the best performances from the night included a dress that incorporated bubble wrap, a set of coordinated hula hoop dancers, several pieces of clothing made from household items including packing material (other than the bubble wrap!), loofahs, and a whole slew of vintage wear from the Flymo’s very own Karma Rags.

My favorite part of the evening, since we were all stuck in the back room (we doubled as models) was the music; the band did a great job of creating a beat that was fun and easy to walk to and that had a different feel depending on the outfit. Pictures of mine and Allison’s designs are to come!
